In 1882 he was living at The Willows according to his signature in an autograph book sent to his nephew Louis for the latter's Bar Mitzvah.
From The Rockford Enterprise, Rockford, Spokane County, Washington Territory, 24 September 1887:
"Saul Kaminsky is running a fruit store at Spokane Falls. An enterprising family."
In 1890 he was working in his father's business, M. Kaminsky & Co.
The Spokane City directory for 1890 lists him as boarding at 516 W 2d Spokane Falls, WA.
From The Cheney Sentinel, Cheney, Washington Territory, August 29, 1890: "Mr. Saul Kaminsky, a young man well known to Cheney, was arrested in Spokane Falls Monday on a charge of embezzlement, made by his employer, (?). S. Rosenbaum. Mr. Kaminsky has been employed as collector during the past year for Rosenbaum, a wholesale liquor dealer. It is thought that the shortage will amount upwards of $2000. The examination was held before Justice Curry, who considered the evidence worthy of an investigation by the grand jury, and fixed the bail at $1,500. M. Kaminsky and Phillip Grubb signed the bond."
