Grew up in Bruchsal and with her mother left Germany via Dusseldorf and Amsterdam in 1936 for Johannesburg, South Africa and from that moment on lost track of most of her family.
In Johannesburg she met her husband.
Worked in her mother's general store "Hollywood Bazaar" in High Street, Brixton from June 1938 until March 1940.
Together with her husband she owned and ran a shop, "Rhine Supply Store" in Rhine Road, Sea Point from May 1950 to May 1958.
In 1977 they returned to Germany and lived in Frankfurt am Main, first in Eschersheim and for the last 20 plus years of her life at Ginnheimer Landstrasse 172.
Her ashes were buried in the "field of the unknown" at Frankfurt's Hauptfriedhof (Main Cemetery) on 2 Mar 2009.
